The 57th Super Bowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona was a nail-biter, tense up to the last minutes. But did you ever stop to think about the behind-the-scenes site preparation? This can be just as exciting, full of twists and turns--a massive team effort by a multitude of event planners, production crew, equipment transporters, and others. Last year was the first year Mobile Modular supplied modular buildings and containers for America’s biggest yearly sports event. Due to Mobile Modulars ability to execute on-time, at a reasonable price and with experts on-site throughout the process we were hired again in 2023 to support the event.
The Challenge
Deliver and install a total of 61 brand new single-wide and 2 double-wide modular buildings as well as 15 portable storage containers from Phoenix to Glendale in preparation for the 57th Super Bowl on Feb. 12, 2023. Given that hundreds of trucks are delivering equipment to the stadium in the days leading up to the Super Bowl, coordination and execution of modular deliveries is no small feat.
Twenty-seven of the modular units that were delivered from Mobile Modular’s Phoenix facility created the Super Bowl television broadcast compound. These units had to be positioned precisely in order to line up correctly with broadcast antenna trailers. Modular units also served as offices for the Super Bowl production team and as the staging area for the Rihanna halftime show. The 15 portable storage containers were used for event storage and Rihanna’s halftime show pyrotechnics.
The event organizers requested the modular buildings be installed within 4 weeks of order, but Mobile Modular delivered the entire fleet in a record 8 days! This extraordinary effort garnered a spontaneous “shout out” and standing ovation from event planners, according to a planning director working with Mobile Modular.
